Kazakhstan to host the WTA 250 tournament for the first time
Kazakhstan will for the first time host the Women’s Tennis Association WTA 250 tournament. It will take place in Nur-Sultan from 26 September to 2 October 2021, informs Prosports.kz referring to the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation.
WTA 250 will be held in the National Tennis Centre of the capital city. World stars of women’s tennis will be competing for the coveted trophy and 250 ranking points. The sports event will be broadcast to over 70 countries around the world.
«This will be an event of a grand scale. For two weeks, Kazakhstan will be in the centre of world tennis attention, firstly with the men’s ATP 250 event to be followed by the women’s WTA 250. We will do our best to deliver an unforgettable experience for tennis players and fans around the world», promised the Astana Open WTA 250 Tournament Director, Peter Johnston.
All Kazakhstan National Team’s top women players will play in the main round of the women’s event.
